The 28-year-old shrugged off all of
the praise he has received for
helping the Seleccao qualify for the
World Cup, insisting that he is only
thinking about Almeria on Saturday
Cristiano Ronaldo has spent little time
savouring his sensational exploits with
Portugal during the international break,
revealing he has already switched his
attention back to Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old is currently being feted
across the globe after securing the
Seleccao qualification for next summer's
World Cup with a stunning hat-trick in his
country's dramatic 3-2 victory over
Sweden on Tuesday.
However, after returning to the Spanish
capital on Wednesday, Ronaldo insists that
the only thing occupying his thoughts at
the moment is Saturday's Liga clash with
Almeria.
"We've had an intense couple of days
with our national sides," the attacker
admitted to his club's official website.
"But we now have two days ahead of us
to prepare as well as possible for the next
match.
"My only goal now, and that of all my
team-mates, is to train so that all the
Real Madrid fans continue to feel proud of
their team."
Ronaldo had also scored the only goal in
Portugal's first-leg meeting with Sweden
in Lisbon last Friday.
